Our commitment to a safe workplace

Kia Puāwai is proud to have renewed our DVFREE Tick accreditation, reaffirming our commitment to providing a safe and supportive workplace for our people.

Awarded by specialist family violence service provider Shine, the DVFREE Tick recognises organisations that have established effective workplace responses to family violence. It reflects a commitment to ensuring employees can access support when needed and that workplaces are equipped to respond appropriately.

Having first achieved accreditation in 2024, this renewal recognises the ongoing work across Kia Puāwai to maintain a workplace culture where people feel safe and supported.

An important part of this work is our network of DVFREE Responders like Shiva and Nikki, pictured. These trained kaimahi provide a confidential first point of contact for colleagues affected by family violence, helping them access workplace support and relevant community resources.

Family violence can affect anyone, regardless of their circumstances. Through our DVFREE Tick accreditation, we are committed to ensuring kaimahi know support is available and that concerns will be met with care and understanding.

This achievement reflects the collective efforts of many people across Kia Puāwai and aligns closely with our values of aroha, manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and wairuatanga.
