Tell us a little about your role with Kia Puāwai?
As the Accounts Payable Administrator, I manage a wide range of financial duties, including caregiver payments, reimbursements, and vendor invoice processing. I also support petty cash management and assist with various other finance-related tasks. I joined Kia Puāwai in March 2023 and have now been with the organisation for over two years.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
I find my role incredibly rewarding, as it not only strengthens my skills and experience in finance but also allows me to collaborate with our kaimahi across different teams. Engaging with various colleagues helps me build meaningful relationships and gain a deeper understanding of the organisation.
What do you feel passionate about?
Working at Kia Puāwai is a truly fulfilling experience, where the spirit of ‘Aroha’ is woven into every aspect of the workplace. The genuine care and support from colleagues create a warm and uplifting environment.
Within the Finance team, collaboration is at the core of everything we do—we work seamlessly together, share knowledge, and a lot of support from my team, making my day-to-day tasks more manageable and enjoyable. The leadership here is outstanding; Marion, the leadership team, and my manager actively listen to our ideas and feedback. Their openness fosters efficient workflows and makes me feeling heard and valued.
Who inspires you and why?
One of the most inspiring parts of my journey at Kia Puāwai has been working with my manager Lilian. Her sharp attention to detail and innovative thinking consistently encourage me to go beyond. She challenges me to think creatively, explore new solutions, and adopt forward-thinking strategies—helping me grow both professionally and personally. Her influence has shown me the value of stepping outside the box and embracing fresh perspectives in my work.
